Oh oh, I pruned to inward facing buds not outward. Maybe I will give it another go tomorrow. My mom's roses don't look like cones they look like oriental fans. lol.

I think fans are better than cones. Thats why my roses haf nasty rust. My branches are too close together and I leave too much twiggy growth becuz I feel sorry for twigs.

Hey it's Cosmos planting time in Tucson! Woot! I just found an awesome flower planting schedule for my area. Are these things 6 feet tall? (1.8 meters) I thought they were small. They will dwarf everything around them! On the dark side, they take 120 days to mature so they won't bloom until October. What the heck? Are any butterflies still around in October? I will try it I guess. And they are annuals so they won't sprout next year. Phooey!~

They'll sprout if you scattur the dried flower heads all over your yard. Soon you'll be sooo sick of them. Ive never heard of 6 foot tall cosmos but my tallest cosmos wuz around 3 foot tall and it wuz hard to pull out of the ground!
