I'm not too surprised.
I heard an interview on radio and he seemed like a nice fellow, very open, not asking for any sympathy and with no tickets on himself. It was based on that that I got his book. Then I read a couple of articles that give a bit more detail about him. I recognised some of the editorial 'stamp' of my publisher's meme in his book so I didn't put too much credence on those bits.
Then I met his publicist and editor at the writers forum I attended last Monday.
Let's say I can see he's been 'well packaged' by publicity and marketing!

Well-packaged and *polished* says Pugsnit. Like a brand new shiny penny. Pigsnoot also added the interesting tidbit that he feels very sorry for Mrs Lloyd.

Well, according to the book and all other accounts I've read, she's very loyal despite their amicable split and his coming out (long before his arrest).

Nope, not always. Where there are children I think people make the effort.

Now I'm trying to finish Gabriel García Márquez' One Hundred Years of Solitude, having taken a short prison break with Mr Lloyd.

I'm curious now, what is it your papa doesn't like about him and how come Pigsnie is unsympathetic? And what does Pigsnie think about the danger of PTSD in his profession?

Papa says he's met him and thats all he'll say. Perhaps they met while Mr Lloyd wasnt looking after his personal hygiene. But I think their unsympathy is a lot aboot poor Mrs Lloyd, the Abandoned Loyal Amicable Wifey. (God should ban the word *amicable* since it covers a multitude of sinning.)

Ughhhhh, I wuz crawling around Pigsnorts library looking for a book my da wants, and a fat book by the dreadful Proust fell off a shelf and dented my braincase. Why do people still read his boring drivul about madelines & backaches? Ick.

No idea. I'm reading The Perks of being a Wallflower. In between assignments. I need a break from all those modalities.
