This is the story of the peeps in this forum. It is a game . . . of sorts . . . like the 5-word story in MOVA but this time we will each have one sentence to post. We will have restrictions on this story to make it more coherent. The characters will be us --- using our own names. I think if we do this, we can plot it better because we know each other. We can also put characters in this story --of people we know and who are familiar to us because we have discussed them in the forum. Like Tyler, Wombat, Pigsnie, the cats, Tanya . . . maybe we can also introduce characters from movies. Characters with personalities so we sorta know how they will behave as we direct the action. For example . . . The Man from Snowy River comes from behind Draggy, holding his lasso over his head. LOL --- or something like that. We shouldn't use obscure movies although we can probably google the movie if we haven't seen it. I will also put the story together . . . in paragraphs and then chapters . . . if the story goes places. So we can see how our story looks . . . from a writer's point of view. So what do you think?

Could we also include novels or mini series... Shall you moderate it so it doesn't get out of hand? You mean you want to add characters from novels and mini-series in the stories? You could do that --- but if we are not familiar with the book or the mini-series, the character may behave differently or look different from the source. I can moderate it if you like. When we write, we should think baby steps. And not go off on some outrageous tangent. Let's keep it consistent. WE can have outrageous characters and outrageous events . . . but it should make some sense when we introduce them. Do you want to write a paragraph when you want to introduce your character or would you rather other people have input into your physical self? I have participated in about a dozen of these collaborations and I found that some peeps took exception when they were given one eyebrow or a wart on an eyelid. ) I personally dont mind if other peeps build my physical self but you may want it differently. If you have a vivid picture of yourself in this story, you may prefer to write to describe yourself fully. OK--- If you want to write a comment, along with your post, make sure you put the comment in parenthesis, so we don't mistake it for part of the plot. At the beginning of the story, let us try to build the universe of our story. I am making the setting an island. This island will be big enough to give us a variety of settings--forest, rivers, caves, ocean, mountains, lakes, alien ruins, haunted pools, vegetable gardens, abbatoirs, Gothic castles, treehouses . . . but this island will be also be fairly close to a city . . . perhaps a couple of hours by boat . . . if on occasion, you want to take the action to an urban setting. So . . . an island which can only be reached by ferry. And of course there will be one house or several homes, if you wish to live apart from everyone. Let us see where we go . . . BTW --- I will put moderation of the story in another thread because it is hard to put the posts together in paragraphs, if my stuff is all over the place. If you are commenting on someone else's post, put it in this thread I will be creating.

POST 1:
Freddie peered through a tiny pair of opera glasses as a stranger was ferried across the bay, to the island's eastern shore.

"Can you see if he's carrying a flitch of bacon?" asked PLite as he tore open a coconut wid his strong white teeths.
Suggestion: Perhaps we should bold our words. Hokay, I bolded Frito & Shoegirl just now.
