At least pearly suits haf style. His is just shiny like the glare of cheap aluminum. Ughhhh. Still, I didnt know I wuz being rather unpolite when I would answer HOW DO YOU DO wid, Im fine, thanks. I am never corrected by Pops although now I understand Pigsnits eye-rolling. Heh.

Weird. Here in the benighted antipodes we get anguished columnists bemoaning that 'How do you do?' is a perfunctory greeting and that no-one ever actually answers or expects a meaningful answer.
I mean, why ask if you're not interested? Why not just say 'hello'?

I guess *How do you do ?* is some sort of poshy leftover from the Downton Abbey milieu. Besides, if Stephen says we ought to say the same, it must be True! [PLite examines his shiny boss wid a madeira pince nez.] Anyhoo, do you know that Pigsnie almost never says *Hello* in public? (Office mates excepted.) He says *Good evening* or *Good morning* or *Good night, toad.* QUite ghastly, I must say.
