Smart Canadians! Although personally, a glass of milk would make me puke. I take my milk in ice cream form.

Looking at those photos I bet some of those milk shoppers are corner store owners (very common in Canada for people of east indian descent to own corner stores). They are probably buying their cheap milk to sell at rip off prices at their corner store.

Milk prices will go up becuz of the drought. Dairy farmers will not be able to feed all their milk cows so many of these will be sold for hamburgur. Poor cows. PS. Is US milk really that cheap that they sell in practically wholesale prices?

Not sure since I don't shop down there, but from what has been in the news lately all of their food is MUCH cheaper then what we pay for the exact same stuff in Canada.. Sometimes double the price for the same item (without even factoring in the exchange rate).

FYI Canada may love milk but shoegirl doesn't. I haven never been much of a milk drinker. Tyler on the other hand loves to drink milk.

I'll send you some milk Shoey. There is a Costco right down the street from me. I bet Tyler isn't too happy the US Dollar is low. He's doing some weird thing by making USD on his websites then converting it for more in CAD, or something like that. Dunno. I think my milk is $2.29, but I buy organic milk so it's a little more expensive. Dunno what regular milk costs. Maybe $1.79?

Wombat and I don't have any dairy in our diet since I found out how much it is linked to breast cancer and prostate cancer. Nor do we eat beef - for the same reason. The bit in dairy that has been linked to breast and prostate cancer is Bovine Growth Hormone (BGH) and it's also in dairy cattle bred to have high levels of BGH since they take less time to mature. Similarly they are fed with milk, and they are slaughtered to make your all-beef-patties-on-a-sesame-seed-bun and other hamburger mince. www.canceractive.com/cancer-active-page-link.aspx?n=319Soy milk made from the whole bean is a great substitute and I think it tastes better.

GOOD GRIEF WOMAN! Not everything gives you cancer! Unless its sugar. I read an Americun newsy report that says sugar can make you a cancerous bacon bit.

Underarm deodorant also causes breast cancer. I think I read that on Facebook but I didn't click the link to find out more about it.
I thought soy was evil Avril. Btw, I had tofu in my dinner tonight.

It's the mercury in some underarm deodorants that have been linked to cancer.
The evidence for milk, cheese and yoghurt is compelling, since Asian populations who do not have dairy in their diet suffer hardly at all from breast or prostate cancer, but as soon as people change to a western diet high in dairy, they get those cancers at the rate western populations do. Of course, Asian populations with a traditional Asian diet get other cancers, just not breast or prostate. Interesting enough to make me change my diet, especially since I have a girlfriend who reduced a significant breast tumour to nothing within a week by excluding dairy.
As for soy products, as long as they're made with the whole bean, it's okay.
