A kindle would be nice if I had access to electricity. A problem with me too is that A Kindle may short out in the heat or I may drop it. I don't think its too good for the life of a volcano guy.

Well, imagine if the PLite, Wart, FreeToe and Avril/Wombat households of disproportionate book storage could have our entire libraries on a digital device...hmm.
(Avril goes off wondering what art she would put on the bare wall instead...)

I would never buy digital reading device. The house would lose its old & pleasing air of scholarly contemplation when I fill the bookcases wid my earthquake emergency stash of corned beef, spam & Pot Noodles.

Do these digital books have an option to have the book read to you like an audiobook?

Yeah--- you can have it read to you. I am saving for the Kindle DX. The big one. You know the smaller ones just went on sale. There's a price war with Barnes & Noble.

The B&Noble one looks teensy. So you'll never buy another *real* book if you get a Kindle, Frito?

So you'll never buy another *real* book if you get a Kindle, Frito? I actually just want a Kindle for my law books. Where I can keep them as reference. Law books are so fat and expensive! I still like real books. Love the feel of paper! Even the smell of them! Hehe. I considered the iPad but its too fragile and its like reading from a computer. I'd hurt my eyes-- such as they are.

Yes, if they're available, law books on a Kindle DX makes absolute sense.
