This is my Blog. OK---this isn't a very promising beginning since I can't think of anything else to say. It must be time for lunch.

Whut did you have for lunch? Did Wortle eat half of Al Pacino? Hitch not dead yet. Whut is taking so long? Leftover breakfast burritos. Al Pacino won't be slaughtered for another 16 months. We like 'em big and fat. Sine we do have a large clan. Are ya gonna post there when Hitch punches out?

I like this song. Really no video but I listen to it when I am babysitting my cousins. Its makes for a very nice lullabye. And you should hear it out in the jungle . . . with the birdsong and the surf.

I like this song. I am listening to it as I type. Questions for Freetoes
Have you ever found a message in a bottle? If so, did it say "Help! Trapped on a deserted island! Send plane!" Could you survive on a deserted island? Do you think Gilligan was crazy for wanting to leave his island paradise? Have you ever been to the mainland? If so, did you like it? Are there lots of bicycles on Hawai'i?

I am house-sitting a little shack that belongs to my father’s friend. She had been called back to the mainland due to an unexpected death and did not expect to return for a few months.
He offered me use of the house first since it is closer to where I work. And I have to take our biggest dog, Mambo Chicken with me. Of all the dogs we have, he is the only one who doesn’t like strangers and he weighs about 70 pounds. I will sleep there maybe 4 nights out of the week. Electricity is spotty and there is no land line. I have to return to the ranch to go online.
You have to go through a gap in the forest, a small lane carved through the plants and scraped over a bed of old lava. There’s just enough room for my little truck to maneuver but the green ferns crowded against the doors and windows like surface kelp. Mambo snapped at the leaves once but I rolled up the windows. Sometimes tree frogs and newts are thrown into the car and I find their dried up little corpses on the seats in the morning. (Usually though, the roads are wide enough so I don’t have to worry about the wildlife.)
The house is a tiny cottage tucked under the dripping canopy of the woods, (It was raining when I reached the house; it’s always raining or drizzling. Sometimes we see the sun shine! Haha)
Anyway, I could hear the rainwater running through the pipes from the galvanized roof. Later, I found that it emptied into an aluminum-sided swimming pool. Really, no one wastes rainwater by swimming in it; it is attached to a showerhead outside. It will serve as my water tank as soon as I clean it up a bit and find the cover. (You don’t want frogs spawning in it or tadpoles coming out of the tap.)

Have you ever found a message in a bottle? If so, did it say "Help! Trapped on a deserted island! Send plane!" Yes, I have. A lot of tourists toss bottles into the ocean. The funniest one we found said. "Help. We need more beer!" Could you survive on a deserted island? Do you think Gilligan was crazy for wanting to leave his island paradise?; If the island was like Hawaii, yes I could. Well, Gilligan wasn't crazy because I think a desert island was not his idea of home. Have you ever been to the mainland? If so, did you like it? Yes, I go to Los Angeles all the time. It's where I passed my bar exam. Are there lots of bicycles on Hawai'i? It's the best way to get around the islands. You just have to get used to the humidity. And we are on a slope so it may be a little challenging for people who are used to flat ground. But it doesn't take a lot of time to get acclimated.

I dont like the idea of you in a ferny cottage by yourself. Its dangerous even wid a 70 pound dog. Whut if the Great God Pan shows up and Papaya Chicken defects? Also, how can you do an instantaneous Most Haunted type blog if you are so far from internutization? Whos gonna babysit Wortles descendant? Who's gonna sing MY BIG BAD HANDSOME MAN to PLite? PS. Pigsnit heard me singing that song in the shower and now he probably thinks Im gay.

Hilo is not London. We know everyone for miles around. And Mambo chicken is a Velcro Dog. And sometimes we do want to be by ourselves, once in a while.

No --- Volcano Village is really small . . . but I can post one that has the atmos of the place. So ya get a real feel for Hilo. The vid is by a man who lives in a neighborhood within walking distance of us . . . about 3 miles maybe. THe videographer is in a wheelchair . . . hence you see his knees and his feet in very clean socks . . . at the end of the vid. He's not hurt; just concerned about his camera.

Waaah, that guy sounds just like Sunfrog! He levitated to Hilo! LOL-- he does sound like Sunfrog! Whut a lovely overgrown path! I love the colourful teeny houses! How many bedroom/bath are those places? They do haf electricity, yes? They are so tiny! The houses are bright so you can easily spot them in the jungle. Also, if there is an evacuation when the volcano erupts, the helis can find us easily. Most of these houses are 2 bedroom. Probably no washer/dryers. Laundry is line-dried. Yes there is electricity! We even have toilets! Showers are often outdoors in the back.
