I just harvest 2 more large zucchini. They were hiding out there under the huge leaves of the plant. There are several more small zucchini out there so hopefully they mature too : )

Yeah they sure do. I was going to bake a zucchini bread or cake today, but today is the hottest day of the year. Not sure if I want to hang out in the kitchen with the oven on. Maybe later tonight I'll make it if it cools off quite a bit outside. By the way it's 30 degrees C our warmest day yet.

I have a pumpkin on my pumpkin vine! First time in years of trying. It's not where near mature, but it's growing nicely. Hopefully it matures into a beautiful orange Halloween carving pumpkin. In other news I harvested 6 medium to large zucchini this season. I might get one more from the vines but that is probably it. I'm pretty happy with the zucchini this year. The tomatoes are just starting to ripen. I have picked about 4 that I have given to my parents to eat (since I only eat tomatoes in cooked dishes). There are still tons of green tomatoes out there. Hopefully they ripen before it gets too cold out. The rabbits are still here nibbling on the greenery. The mother rabbit looks like it's going to give birth to a second litter any day now. Still waiting for that to happen. That is all in my gardening news for now

We have had a cooler then usual summer again this year. Only slightly better then last summer. Our warmest day this year was 31 degrees C, and only 2 days of the whole year were that temperature. Most of our summer days have been between 21 and 25 degrees C.

Not here, it's been a pretty nice summer. Not too much rain (thank goodness). We need the break from rain since we have rain about 9 months straight of the year (as in every 2 to three days for 9 months straight).

I have a question about tomatoes and cucumbers. I just planted a bunch of seeds for each and now the internet says I only need 1 plant per person. Oops.
Do I only need 2 tomato plants for 2 people? How about cucumbers? Do you suggest 2 also?

I would plant more then 1 plant per person. That is because some times a plant will die or get diseased. You never know. If you get too many vegetables then you can give them away to friends or family or the food bank
