Does this forum show up on Google yet?
I was looking at a newbie thread in MOVA and the mods and posters tore into this noob who was asking why no one was answering the newly opened threads. That's hospitality for ya! . . . hmm a 27 year old guy from Melbourne, Australia! Who collects banknotes!

Footling through bulb catalogues again. Ordered 500 ranunculus & 500 freesia. That should stink up the place. My da will pay for this becuz these are for Mums garden. Tulips will be mostly parrot but I havent made up my mind yet which colours. Pigsnit has his own gardener Mr Yamamoto to do his garden, thank goodness. He already has whut seems like thousands of bulbs in the potting shed.

Why do you have to order so many bulbs each year P-Lite? Do all your bulbs die each year?

Becuz I pull them all out every year after the flowers poop out. I hate seeing dried up yellow leaves in the garden, which has to happen if you leave all bulbs in the ground for next years growth. My da doesnt like it either. So out they all go when the flowers are gone. I keep bulb farmers in business!

You throw them out? Why not store them for next year? Why not plant pretty annuals around your bulbs and just cut them back when they (the bulbs) go yellow? Then your bulbs will not be the center of attention..

Yep, I give the spent bulbs to the lady next door. She keeps some of them but mostly she composts them. Im too lazy to compost. Add I do plant some annuals like cosmos & snapdragon. Basically, Mums garden is so huge (almost an acre) that its easier to pull out dead stuff & toss in a bin.

It's not really dead though! No composting?? I thought Europe was big of recycling even more then Canada.
Here we recycle everything. It's a major sin not too. Almost everything is recyclable. We have many recycling depos, and curbside recycling (just like garbage). 80% of waste is recycled. The city wants that to be 100% within about 10 years. It could happen at this rate, and it would be wonderful if it did.
