It was a dark and stormy night inside P'Lite's mind with an occasional thunderclap of anger now and then, so I took shelter in a red phone box and checked my messages while I waited for the storm to abate.
"Come to my new forum," said P'Lite, so I did. Here I am.

How do I make my box have an avatar in it like everyone else's? I did it! 15 miles on my bike! 24 Km! I went to see a free movie at the park but it was canceled on account of rain so I rested a bit then came home. Woot! On the way home it rained on me and the water weighed me down and made it harder to pedal. I took shelter under a bridge for about 15 minutes and drank water from some bottled water I took with me. Now I am home and sweaty. Phew!~ Where are your smileys?

Hi Sunny,
Try in the Modify Profile page. There's a drop down menu of avatars.
Did you know that the best way to lose weight (to be a more svelte cyclist) is to increase your metabolism by eating more frequently, and not less? Do you want more tips or will you threaten me with your bicycle pump?

You don't need to lose weight, Dragrat. I know. I looked. ;D
Sunfroggers was talking about eating just cereal in the morning and peanut butter at night on that other forum in the hope of losing weight.
Uh nuh, Sunfroopy. That's too much fat at night. Keep fat and carbs to a minimum in the latter part of the day. Carb up in the morning! And eat lots of protein! Every two and a half to three hours! Lean red meat! Chicken, turkey, kangarooster!

Meat? I have to eat meat? I hardly ever do that. The book I'm reading says I need complex carbohydrates. What's that? Where do I get them? There is a section on nutrition in The Complete Bike Book that I'm reading but I haven't gotten to that part yet. The book contains a training schedule and then later nutrition tips. I'm still reading about the different types of specialty bikes. It's pretty interesting. I'm pretty sure I have the wrong type of bike. I have a mountain bike when I need a road bike. Road bikes are lighter and have different tires. My bike is heavy and rugged to take abuse. I've already started saving up for a new one.

Mountain bikes are bitchin'! I wouldn't have a road bike. Not enough suspension over rugged suburban potholes. ;D

Complex carbs are wholegrain breads, oats, muesli and brown rice.
I'm not allowed to eat any of those. Too fattening for me. Nor am I allowed root vegetables or pumpkin. But I'm allowed three corn thins a day. The only carbs I eat are vegetables like capsicum (green peppers), tomatoes, cucumbers, snow peas, lettuce, rocket, zucchini, spinach, mushrooms. Mmmm. I'm thinking of mushrooms in garlic butter....hold the butter, slosh the tamari instead!
Oh and if you want to build muscle, lean meat protein is the easiest way.

[PLite feather pens in 3 additional gallons of neapolitan ice cream & microwave lasagna in Pigsnies grocery list.] And when the heck did you start using the word *bitchin*, Avrilly? Um, 3 corn thins with 100g of turkey breast. That's it. One meal. Eat more often, BUT, caution with the protion, as they so nauseatingly keep telling me. Eggshelly, (that's Strine, you know), I have no problem because I never ate a huge amount, but it's the kind of food - certain amounts of mainly protein, little fat and few carbs - plus working with weights at the gym and a bit of cardio. That's what allows you to make the difference. 70% nutrition. 30% exerMaccise. First time I ever used 'bitchin!' - today! Seemed right.
