It's addictive, but shhh, don't let on...
Sunny, you may be burning muscle more than fat at 80% heart rate. If I go slower I burn more fat. Weird, I know. it's the way the metabolism works.

I consulted my bike book. At 80% I am raising my tolerance to lactic acid. I started out fine, slowly working up to 70% and continued to ride at an even pace. But when I checked my heart rate I had gone to 75%, which increases my body's ability to use oxygen. Then I came to some rolling hills and I went to 80%. From there I kept stopping to check my heart rate and then starting again at a slower pace but it kept going up. When I stopped to put air in my tires it went back down and when I made it home I was at 75%. So, I trained at all levels I guess. Then I ate a peanut butter sandwich on wheat bread with chocolate in it for carbs, protein, and instant energy, and ate it within 30 minutes of finishing the workout. After my sandwich I stretched out because I forgot to do that when I came home. I did all this in a high gear as the book suggested. 70% heart rate is hard to find because I don't sweat and I can't feel my heart beating in my chest. I don't even breath hard at that pace. It's really hard to tell anything is happening at all. Tomorrow, 45 minutes at 70%, with 3 one minute sprints. I wonder if a cycling computer will help me. It will tell me how fast I'm going and if I find the 70% pace I can keep it there. Dunno.

A heart monitor band and computer watch will do that for you. It keeps a history and you can link it by blue tooth to your computer, for graphs and a training program.
Garmin devices are what I use.

Waaaah~ My tire popped! No more bike riding for me until I buy a new inner tube! There I was doing my 45 minute ride. This time I went too slow and had trouble getting in the target zone. I was all done and heading home but first I stopped at the store for my mom. As soon as I left I crossed the main street and POP! Blowout! Waaaah~ I had to walk my bike the rest of the way home. I drowned my sorrow by eating a Cliff Bar, it's a protein bar thing, and drinking water. I am sweating like a horse today. I think it's the humidity. Perfect for rain except it's not raining. Tomorrow is a rest day.

Too bad about your tire. Will you be able to patch it? or will you need a new tire?

When I was a kid I used to carry a patch kit on my bike. I was always splitting or puncturing my tires.

Hey, Flickr changed since I was last there. I can't post pictures from it. Here, click these. flic.kr/p/8nUGYPwww.flickr.com/photos/sunfrog1/4843008076/in/photostream/www.flickr.com/photos/sunfrog1/4843045186/in/photostream/www.flickr.com/photos/sunfrog1/4842430493/in/photostream/That's Cesar Chavez on that guy's t-shirt btw. He had a dream once too. How am I supposed to post my pictures? Now I can't have a p'log. Anyway, tonight I drove my car downtown to photograph the SB1070 protest. Arizona just passed a racist bill that people hate. Here is a video set to music because the people chanting were annoying. Hahaha~ Plus, they kept yelling into the bullhorn so I couldn't tell what they were saying and neither could anyone else. They were either chanting, "where's the chicken? I want to cook the chicken but the chicken escaped," or saying something about liberty. Hahaha! Not sure which. Some people were arrested and taken away for not clearing the street but I arrived too late to see it, darn it. Oh, btw, the cops had Trek bikes. That's top of the line. I wanted to chat with the bike cops but they didn't look too friendly. I took some photos too but I don't have any software to process them. It's only now that I'm home that I realized I don't have to shoot in RAW mode. I can shoot .jpg. Duh~ I just switched my camera to jpg so now I can edit pics again. D'oh! P.s. My bike tire is popped, not flat. Can't fix it. It burst. I think I put too much air in it yesterday.

The police bikes around here are Shimano bikes but I don't know if they're any good. Why don't you be a bike cop, Sunfrog? There are IPMBA trainers in every state.

I think they were saying, "Give me liberty or give me chicken!" Ha. The lady with the bullhorn kept yelling into it so no one could understand what she was saying.

I'm tired and hungry and there isn't anything to eat. I am considering driving my car to go buy something. Today I worked and rode my bike there and back. Then I took a nap. After that I went for a 1 1/2 hour bike ride along the river. I was still tired from my 1 hour ride yesterday but that's what the training schedule says to do. I don't like driving my stinky polluting car anymore and I only have $2 because the bank canceled the $471 USD that I nicked out of P'Lite's bank account. Hehehe. Just kidding of course. What should I do? Nevermind, I went in the kitchen and made noodles.

SEEE! Too many bike rides make you tired! You should buy something frightfully unhealthy to eat to cheers you up.

I ate Taco Bell tacos yesterday. Is that frightfully unhealthy? I've been having lots of strange dreams lately. I think I have the hang of this lucid dreaming thing. I just tell myself to remember my dream and I do. Nothing about the future yet though, but I did have a dream where I told myself that I can't dream about the future because the possibilities are too endless to calculate. There are too many possible outcomes for me to dream the future. Bah~

Yeah, dreaming the future can be scary and only useful if you can master your fear enough not to draw to yourself what you fear.
At first lucid dreaming recording (if you're writing them down) can be boring as. Then there'll be some awesome exceptions which feel so different to ordinary dreams that you won't wonder anymore about whether you're travelling or just digesting day old tacos.
Have you had any flying trips yet?
