[Plite giggles.] I haf an issue wid cats lately. I set out a huge bowl of cat kibble everyday for the ferals in the neighbourhood. Most of the food usually gets eaten. But for the last week (well, at least 3 times), I haf found the bowl upended and the food scattered about, making my driveway untidy. So there must be a very rude feral visiting London for the Olympics.

Racoons often poop in our yard at night. We rarely ever see them. However their poop has done lovely things for our yard. We have about 4 grape vines that are growing thanks to their poop and 3 of them are doing very well indeed. (ie we never planted the vines their poop did).

Raccoons haf pretty clever hands, kinda scary, metinks. They can easily get in your house if you haf a dog door.

Yup P-Lite is right. There are lots of people in Nanaimo I have met over the years, who have told stories of usually leaving a garage door open a crack so their cat can go in and out, and finding racoons in their garage, and often the cat food all eaten.

I don't think it's legal to have racoons as pets. They are wild animals despite that they often come in close contact with us humans...

I didn't do anything today. The monsoons have been watering my garden. I did buy some activated charcoal on Amazon.com and an air pump so I can make my own compost tea. To detox my soil I need to sprinkle it with activated charcoal so that it soaks up all the nasty things and then add microbes in compost tea to eat the charcoal.

Today I made my garden bigger. I haven't measured it yet. Tomorrow I will expand it a little bit more. I think I am going to start a new garden because my plants aren't withering. I think they will live all year round here. Dunno, but I need more space for spinach and stuff. It's not planting time yet but I'm antsy.
I didn't go for a bike ride today because I was too busy and also because I was watching all the news about the shooting at the Batman movie. I am going to start a training schedule on Monday.
In other news, it was a boring day. Bleh~

Its TOO HOT to ride bikes. You should haf made slushies. And prepare to laugh at the British Opening Ceremonies. Its starting in a week. My favourite upcoming events are diving (dominated by the Chinese) and male gymnastics (dominated by Uchimura, the Greatest Gymanst in 2000 yearsssss!)

I love watching gymnastics too! It was the Olympics that made me want to be a gymnast when I was just a wee little girl (and I did do gymnastics for many years, wish it was longer though).

Waaahhh, I thought one made compost tea by putting compost in water! I didnt know about the molasses & the steeping part. Looks quite complicated! How many times a month do you teabag your plants?

Twice a month for 3 months then once a month after that.
Today I harvested 3 zucchinis and 6 very puny beets.
Garden Total so far 10 zucchini, 6 tiny beets, 6 leaves of basil, 6 baby carrots, and 4 turnips.
I think my zucchini plants are done. Only 2 left. The other 4 died. I think it was their time. Do zucchini plants die each year?

I dont think they're perennials. You might haf to plant them every year. You should research veggie lives.
