www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cn5gGMHJynw I miss gymnastics. It has been ten years and one month since I quit, and I miss it. I almost went back to it 5 years ago but I never felt fit enough to go back. Now I am even less fit then back then 5 years ago. It would be fun to go back but it would be oh so hard on my body. Avril does your daughter do gymnastics anymore even just for fun?

Heheh, as I started reading this Lisa I immediately thought of Sarah and the fact that at 28 she is doing gymnastics again, while doing circus training! She quit national competitive gymnastics when she was about thirteen or fourteen.
She's pretty active, cycling everywhere in Melbourne where she lives. I'm not sure if she's working out in the (fitness) gym at present, though she used to while she lived in Sydney. You can find her on my FB page!

Sarah is in the circus? Were you in the circus Avril?
Why do gymnasts have to be pure muscle? Which muscles are used for flipping? What kind of exercises do they do for hamstrings? How about abs? I hate crunches. My abs have DOMS right at this very moment. Can you still flip and stuff Shoey? Tanya can only do cartwheels and maybe a flip when she feels brave. I can't even do that.

Sarah is in circus training, which is different to being in a circus. They have a performance in September which I hope to see. I was never in a circus, though I was a clown. I did street performing and clown shows and so did Wombat. My clown names, at different times, were Daisy and Breeze.
I love crunches. I have tendonitis in both my wrists from doing boxing and weights and cannot do cartwheels at the mo.

About 10 years ago I was able to flip and stuff, but I would be hesitant to try it now without my gymnast body..

It's soooo smokey here. The smell is not pleasant. There are some forest fires on the mainland which is a 2 hour ferry trip away. It seems to thick and smelly to be that far away. Wherever it is its not pleasant.

Hmm, bush fires and forest fires smell okay usually, since it's eucalyptus resin or in your case, probably conifer resin that smell so strong. Could it be something chemical that's burning instead, rubber tyres or plastic? Those smell foul.

I recommend getting it on Netflix if you haven't. It makes fun of the competition but it also shows the hard work you have to do as a gymnast! You know you look like the cute blonde in the film! Hehe

Yup I did watch Stick it several years ago. I enjoyed it a lot! I might watch it again though now that you reminded me of it.

I think that girl would have made a better Bella than what's her face. I can totally see her flipping for Edward.

Oh the smoke is really getting to me. It is sure not clearing if anything it's getting worse. I have always been very sensitive to smoke. Even before all my other allergy issues started. I was tolerating the heavy hot air okay yesterday although it does take a toll on breathing, but today its not just affecting my breathing my eyes are feeling it too.
I wish those fires on the mainland (which is apparently where the smoke is coming from) would get put out. They must be massive for the smoke to travel this far and to last so long...
I think their needs to be much more harsh punishment for smokers who sometimes are the cause of these fires (though they are rarely caught anyways, throwing out their butts).

Do you have a forest fire season? We do, from December to March. nothing official but there are usually a small handful of fires in BC from July through September.. On Vancouver Island we are pretty lucky. In the 25 years I have lived here I have only heard of a couple major fires. I guess that is one bonus of not living on the mainland. There is so much water here (lakes, rivers, streams) and the ocean that I guess forest fires or grass fires don't happen often. This year though their has been an ugly spree of house fires, something that seems to be a new trend.
